I'm ready. Let's rock. Okay. Let's start with a basic but very important question. What are the essentials for a basic good

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: skincare routine?

The essentials for a basic and good skincare routine are very simple. I like to tell all of my patients. Think about it in four easy steps. First, you want to cleanse the skin. You want to get that pallet nice and fresh, so it's ready to receive all of the goodness mm-hmm. That we're about to bestow upon it.

The next thing you want to do is, is you want to treat the skin. You wanna make sure that that skin is getting all of the proper nutrients. And all of the treatments ready and necessary to make that skin look and feel its best. Mm-hmm. After that, what we wanna do is hydrate the skin. We wanna make sure that we're hydrating the skin, making that skin feel nice and well treated.

Moisturized is the professional word. And then from there, we wanna make sure that that skin is protected. Day in and day out. Sometimes there are different ingredients that can be used and different, um, products that are really great for each of those steps. And today we've put together an incredible regimen that's easy and simple for all of our participants in this live to use at home.

Mm-hmm. And if you guys

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: do not know the name of this kit is the exclusive. Skincare Essentials Kit, you'll get that because Skincare Essentials is in the middle. Essential skincare Essentials, no essential skincare. Back that up. Thank you very much. Just reminding everybody, the name of this kit is the Exclusive Skincare Essentials kit, so you can click, but let's talk.

Okay. So what is the first step? You said it's

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: cleanse? Absolutely. Okay. Cleansing the skin is the first step. To get your best looking skin. When you cleanse the skin, you're really setting that skin refreshing and renewing the pallet to be ready to receive all the treatments. One of the things that I like to do is really recommend a gentle cleanser, such as this PCA cleanser that we have here.

This cleanser is nice and creamy. You just need a little bit. A little bit goes a long way, and it's great for all skin types. So,

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: okay. When you say it's great for all skin types, I think of myself as someone now who prefers a creamy cleanser as I've gotten older. What if you're someone who tends towards the acne, oily?

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: So you're absolutely right. Um, you know, there are different types of skin and it might make sense for us to spend a moment talking about the different types of skin. Oh, please, yes, there is skin which can be considered dry skin. There's skin that can be considered acne, oily skin, and then there's combination skin.

When we're thinking about those three skin types, you're thinking, well, what is gonna be the best approach to get your skin clean without feeling overly dry? Mm-hmm. Or overly oily. And you want something that's gonna have a nice soothing effect that's creamy, that goes on smooth, that's not overly foamy.

And still can help make that skin be ready to receive the treatments that you're about to do. So even

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: with a creamy cleanser, you can get rid of dirt and oils.

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: That's one of my favorite things about it is, is a little bit goes a long way. Sometimes I let patients know when they're in office, let them know, look, we wanna use the right products for your skin to help your skin look and feel its best.

Mm-hmm. And the right amount. And the right amount is going to be what's best for the patient's skin, and we wanna make sure that we're not overusing any of these products. Mm-hmm. That we're using the right amount. Small amounts of this PCA cleanser go a long way to cleansing the skin and also not stripping away.

Too much of the essential parts of what make our skin look and feel great.

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: Right, right. So that's one of the things that I love about this Skincare Essentials kit. It is really for every skin type. So if you're looking for anti-aging, you've come to the right place. But if you're on that borderline of like, well, really, I'm just trying to stave off aging, you have also come to the right place.

So again, this is that. PCA Skin Creamy Cleanser. Do you use this morning and

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: night? I do like to recommend to patients to think about cleansing the skin morning and night. As soon as you wake up in the morning, one of my things that before you even brush your teeth, little warm water on the hands, and then put this cleanser on the hand.

You don't need a wash cloth or lofa just simply while you're at the sink. Just splash a little water, splash a little cleanser, rub it in. Let it sit for about five 10 seconds and then feel free to rinse it

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: off five, 10 seconds. Okay, so this is something you can, your coffee can wait. You can do this first.

We're talking maybe a minute total for this cleansing routine. Um, I have tried everything in this kit, this cleanser, you guys. It smells amazing. Absolutely. It is a really beautiful light. I, I think there's lavender in this formula, and it is, it's just heaven on your skin, so I love this one. All right, let's go on to the treat.

Uh, step in our regimen, what is involved here?

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: So this is the part which is really the medical grade step of what we're talking about. Mm-hmm. This is where we really kind of elevate our treatment regimen in order to look and feel our best. There's a few different things that I like to share with every client and every patient in terms of.

Getting their skin to where they want it to be, reaching their skincare goals. Oh

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: my God. Skincare goals. Hashtag hashtag is right. You were gonna get us there. If anyone can do it, we will. It's you, Dr. Jack. We can do it. All right. So

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: what are those secrets? So some of those secrets are having a serum that is infused with antioxidants that is going to help your skin really.

Feel and look amazing. And when I say feel and look amazing at any age, some of my patients, they come in, they tell me they're in their twenties, their thirties. You know, but they're looking to look their best. Mm-hmm. I like to call that rejuvenation. You're not thinking, Hey, what do I need to do when I'm forties, fifties, sixties?

What can I do right now to just look and feel amazing? What can I do so that when I go out, when I interact with clients, friends, family, you know, any sort of. You know, interaction, you have the highest level of confidence. You look and feel the best, you know, you look great in your photos, you look great, you know, in real life.

And that's what it's all about. Yeah,

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: I really love that. I feel like so many of us got into skincare and the reason that you guys are tuning, tuning in is because you love skincare because. It makes you feel good about yourself. You are happy with what you see in the mirror, and you know that you are doing what you need to do to take care of yourself and take care of your skin.

Your skin is so much a reflection of what's going on with you to see that gorgeous glow that you get from an antioxidant. Is is key. So let's talk about this antioxidant product in particular. This is one that you specifically chose for this kit. It is the clinical skin, vitamin C Pro, collagen serum. Can you explain why collagen is so important?

Why are we also pro collagen?

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: Absolutely. So Cheryl, one of the things I would like to share with you about my background as a dermatologist and a physician researcher is, is that I've been researching antioxidants, In the laboratory and in the clinic for over 20 years. Oh guys,

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: this is no joke. Okay. 20 years in the lab.

I know. It's amazing. You look, you must be using, I do the pro collagen vitamin C because I do use it. You look like you couldn't. There's no way. You've been in a lab for 20 years. I have. You're not old enough. I have been.

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: Um, so I will share with you, you know, this is one of my go-to products. It's really, you know, it has some of the things that really kind of make me excited as a dermatologist and as you know, a researcher as well.

You know, some of the things that excite me so much about the clinical skin, vitamin C Pro collagen serum is one, the powerful mix of antioxidants and also enzymes that are combined together that help really elevate the overall experience to help patients look and feel great. So

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: let's talk about vitamin C because that is the, the antioxidant that is featured in this formula, and it's the one that you've probably heard of the most because it has such a track record of efficacy.

So tell us about vitamin C. How much is in here? How much should we

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: be looking for? Absolutely. So within a clinical effective range, the best serums on the market. To date really range within 15 to 20% Vitamin C. I can tell you that the clinical skin serum here is at the top of that level. It has 20% vitamin C.

In this serum, and I can tell you that it's been clinically studied to be safe and effective. That's, and those are the two things that I'm looking for in any serum. Is it gonna be safe? Is it gonna deliver the results that I'm looking for, that my clients are looking for in the best, easiest manner to help people look phenomenal.

So what

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: is it that Vitamin C does for our skin that makes it look so darn

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: good? So vitamin C is basically one of the foundational antioxidants. It's basically, as you said, the antioxidant superstar. Antioxidants are so important because they help prevent the harmful effects of different things in our environment that can happen to our skin that end up resulting in dullness wrinkles.

Different kind of pigments, reds, browns, basically everything that patients come in to see me for. Mm-hmm. And they are like, Hey doc, can you make this better? Can you help treat this, make this go away, make this go away. Help me out here. And I say, look, there are things that we can do in office, but you know, none of those really kind of.

Go home with you on a day in day out basis. Yeah. Yeah. To help you maintain your skin and elevate your skin to where you want to get it to be. When we're talking about skincare goals, hashtag goals, we want to get it, you know, we want to have products such as the clinical skin, vitamin C serum that really help you help patients look and feel phenomenal and really, Work and are safe for your skin.

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: Yeah. I want you guys to know I have used many vitamin C serums throughout my life. I have actually been quite sensitive to some vitamin C. I have been using the clinical skin vitamin C. Not only does it not irritate my skin, which is like basic entry for me, it's unbelievably luxurious on your skin. It doesn't have that kind of tacky feeling I often find in a vitamin C serum.

Mm-hmm. This texture. Butta, Bing. This

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: is good stuff. And also the smell I can share with you that you know what's in here. What is it? What is it? Lavender is one of the secret ingredients here. It's infused with lavender, so it smells great. And one of my pro tips, when patients come in, they always talk about their faces and they say, doc, what can I do to help my face look youthful?

To make it shine? To make it glow? I think I know where we're going, right? I let them know that. Think about the hands as well. Hands are really one of the signs of how our skin is doing, how we look, how we, you know, kind of age. And when you're thinking about, you know, how you, you know, what's exposed face and hands.

Yep. And you know, I let all of my clients know you want to take care of your face. But also don't neglect the skin on your hands. So just one drop goes a long way. Rub it on both the backs of your hands at night. And again, as you mentioned, it's not sticky. So dozing, nice and smooth, well absorbed by the skin and luxurious, oh my God, I'm gonna

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: do it right now.

I know. Absolutely. I know I'm okay. You guys look at this, you can see that's how you know. Look at this. It's super,

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: super, super. One drop

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: is all you need. Okay? That's. I have plenty for both hands. Absolutely. Probably put a little bit here as well. I love, that's so nice. Thank you. Cause I don't think about my hands.

Absolutely. I don't. I think about my neck and my dage, my hands hand. Treat those hands. So ridiculous. Um, okay, so one drop. That is all we need. I think this is great. I wanna check in. Oh, you guys, 20% of our supply is gone. Okay. So just a reminder, you are getting all five of these pieces for half the price that you would spend, and you're getting it for a grand total of 50 cents a day.

I'm sorry, but this is so worth more than 50 cents a day. Um, so 20% gone. Do not forget, click to purchase. This would be a good time. All right, let's move on to our next step, which is treating the eyes. Everybody talks about the eyes. I gotta have my eyes done. How are we gonna avoid having them done? What do we need to know about treating this area?

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: Absolutely. So part of my research really, that we've published is. What makes people look and feel great and what is noticed most, and in some of the published research that we've done, we've found in our aesthetic studies that the eyes are really the key to the face. It's so true, and I love to share with all patients.

Never neglect a great eye treatment at night. Now that we're onto the eyes, one of the things that I like to recommend, one of the products I recommend is the SkinCeuticals eyeball. It's one of my personal go-tos, and I'm so happy we were able to include it in the regimen. Mm-hmm. It's

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: a great one. I mean, this is another one.

I, I'm not supposed to play with it cuz I'm supposed to make it look pretty, but you guys, I can't resist. I'm sorry. Um, this bomb, I want you to look at this texture. It is so cushiony and so creamy and a bomb is unusual for the eyes. Am I right? Absolutely. Why? Why a bomb? Why

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: this texture? So I can tell you that this texture really goes on very smoothly, and one of the things that I'm looking for in a bedtime bomb, I love to call it bedtime bombs, so that patients know when is the best time of day to use it at nighttime.

That's like really the best time to renew those. The skin underneath the eyes. If you live, basically as we live, you know, in front of computers, in front of screens, we're getting exposed to lots of blue light from electronic devices. Yep. And our research has shown that that generates a lot of anti oxid, a lot of oxidative stress, a lot of, uh, reactive oxygen species in our skin.

And we need to soothe that out at bedtime.

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: So just remember guys, oxidation is the bad thing, and that's why oxidants. You are what you want. Antioxidants, absolutely. Antioxidants, good, oxidants bad. So all of those things that assault your skin, the pollution, the sun,

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: um, those electronic

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: devices, the screens, that's the blue light.

The screens. We're not saying turn off your screen right now, we're just saying you want to protect yourself and repair your skin with an bomb later. Absolutely. So what are the ingredients that are in this bomb?

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: So hit me up. And I'll show you. Goes on. Very nice and smooth underneath the eyes. Again, small amount.

Nice and bright.

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: Look at you. You're a center finger guy. I've heard so that you use the ring finger cuz it's the

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: weakest. I just feel right for it. Just go straight away. Center,

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: center finger. Do not fear any finger. Will do when you're applying your I bomb. You heard it here from Dr. Jack Deo. He would not lead you astray.

Um, so. This is, do you use this during the day

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: or just at night? I use

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: it at night.

I

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: heard just at night end. At night time. Okay. It goes on easily integrates well as we see on camera. Yeah. And feels,

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: it feels Ur. Incredibly luxurious. Mm-hmm. That texture of a bomb. Speaking of night. Mm-hmm. The other big ingredient.

Our next step for night. Is what I like to

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: recommend, retinols in the evening retinol. So retinols a really, uh, foundational hallmark to any skincare regimen. Mm-hmm. Really what they do is, is they're vitamin A derivatives. So again, we're going back to the vitamins. When you think of vitamins and skin, think skin health, and when you're talking about how to renew the skin, that's one of the best ways to actually renew the skin.

Retinols renewal. So you're

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: going, oh, I like that. R r Retinol, renewal double

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: R. So when you're thinking about. Um, kind of evening out tone, texture. You really wanna go with a retinol that is at least, um, 1.0 that's really very powerful. I like to recommend to all patients to think about starting off these retinols very slowly.

Um, basically use a small pea sized amount. Dot it on the finger, then put one on each cheek, forehead, and chin, rub it in. Less is more and start every other night because sometimes some people, and some people have skin are sensitive to retinols. Yeah,

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: I definitely heard that. And it's interesting because I was actually just getting, uh, a sign.

We have questions in the chat. There's, I'm gonna take a question. I know that the licensed estheticians are there answering your questions, but here's one I'm gonna toss to you, Dr. Doug Deo. Sure. How do you integrate a retinol into your routine? Because you're right, some people are

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: sensitive. So again, very slowly, you want to kind of go with a retinol that has a good track record of being safe and effective.

I'm gonna hammer home those two points for every product that we've really selected here. Safe and effective is key. Um, with regards to in integrating retinols into a treatment regimen, you wanna basically do it at nighttime after you've washed the face. Little bit, little drop on. One of the fingers you, you know, you might have, uh, the ring finger tip and technique.

I'm either middle finger or pointer finger sort of guy, but everybody has their own way, small amount, you know, in the palm. And then dot, dot, dot, dot. Rub it in. Allow for it to sit on the skin for at least 10 minutes. Um, some people have a little bit of sensitivities. Do it every other night. Work your way up too nightly after about two weeks.

One of the things that I like to share with everybody is that sometimes you can have a little dryness, a little irritation, a little flaking. That means the product is working. If it's a little too, if it makes your skin a little too sensitive, then go to every other day, every other night.

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: So the retinol that you chose for this kit is the O Baji 360 Retinol 1.0.

What does 1.0 mean?

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: 1.0 is the amount of the retinol in this product. And this is one of kind of the more classic treatment options out there when you're thinking about using a retinol. You wanna go with a brand that has been around, has done clinical testing, has a proven track record of working and delivering the results that you're looking for.

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: Yeah. Um, PS. Also using this product, also loving this product, have not experienced any sensitivity. And I am, well, maybe not naturally fair-haired. I am fair-skinned. Mm-hmm. And I find retinols can be quite irritating. This formula is terrific. Um, alright. Are there any other benefits of retinol we should do know about?

Can I do retinol

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: in my hands too? You can, but it's really a facial product. Okay. That's, that's kind of where it works. Best stop here people. Yep.

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: All right. Um, how are we doing in terms of how much we have left? Let me take a look. Oh, you gay? Haha. We are 40% sold. This is the time to click and purchase.

Okay? These will not stick around. Remember, you are getting all five of these steps. Were getting cleansed. Treat, treat and treat, we're moving on to the final step. And we are only spending $184 total, not $368, which is what it would normally cost, but while we are here, we are just spending half the price 50 cents a day.

Okay. What is that last step that we're

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: missing? So the last steps. When you're thinking about taking great care of your skin and as part of any skincare regimen is hydrating and protecting the skin, one of the things that I like to recommend is see if you can find a product that integrates both very well.

Yeah.

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: Yeah. I like a multitasker. Without a multitasker. I'm, I'm nowhere. I'm like, absolutely. Maybe I'll skip a step.

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: No skipping. Absolutely. So I like to recommend sunscreens that have moisturizers in them. And those are great to reapply throughout the day. Mm-hmm. I let every patient know that the best sunscreens are the ones that you use and that look good on any skin type.

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: Absolutely. Now, this is a really good one. This is the one, it's Image Skincare Prevention plus Daily Ultimate Moisturizer, SPF 50. Now, this is one that has. Zinc oxide in it. Mm-hmm. Can you explain the difference? This is what we call a physical sunscreen. Can you explain the difference between a physical sunscreen and a chemical sunscreen and why

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: we would care?

Absolutely. So there are, as you mentioned, Cheryl, there are two different types of sunscreens, physical blockers, and. Chemical blockers. And the way that physical blockers work is, is that they have little, small physical, um, particles in them. Either zinc or titanium, are the two main ones that actually work very nicely on the skin to help prevent the sun's rays and also things that are in the environment as well, such as pollution.

Um, visible light, infrared light as well. Blue light, too. Blue light, especially that falls within the, um, visible light spectrum. And that is actually has actually been shown in our laboratory to hurt skin cells. And that's something that we really want to be able to protect against. Mm-hmm. And chemical sunscreen blockers, um, they have different properties.

Those are really targeted only for UV light. It's very interesting. A lot of. People just don't even know that. Um, the sun's radiation, out of all those solar rays, less than 10% of them are UV light. So it's important to protect against the other wavelengths of light, such as visible light and infrared light.

Physical blockers, like zinc based products do exactly that.

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: Wow. Wow. Did you get all that you guys? So basically, it's not just uv, we need to be aware of. It's the infrared, it's the blue, it's all these other lights on the spectrum that we don't even think about that a sunscreen like this one mm-hmm. Is going to protect against.

And I want you guys to see, okay, so a lot of people are like, oh, zinc oxide, that's that white stuff that sung, you know, lifeguards use. Zinc oxide has been reformulated mm-hmm. Into a way that is much, much more sheer on your skin. Even on darker skin tones. Absolutely. So you don't have to worry about it leaving that white cast that you don't like that kind of ashy look.

Mm-hmm. This is, and I, again, I don't know what you were doing, but like you were clearly back there smelling everything and going, oh, Cheryl will like this because the smell of all of these products just makes me so, so happy. So, okay, so if so, look at this beautiful.

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: Look at this integration into my

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: gorgeous skin.

So gorgeous. Works very well. And you know, we're, we are not the full range of skin tones right here, but this product really does meld with any skin. Um, so, Let's talk now about the hydration part of this formula and, and why that's

Dr. Jared Jagdeo: important. Absolutely. So one of the things that I like to share with my patients is, is the best sunscreen is the sunscreen that you're willing to use every single day.

Mm-hmm. And the best sunscreens, kind of as you mentioned, do double duty. And that's really why we selected this sunscreen in particular for inclusion in the regimen, because this sunscreen is a sunscreen that you can use all year round, whether or not it's summertime. Or wintertime or any season in between because all the time of the year, you really need to protect your skin from solar rays, plus moisturize your skin to help it look and feel great.

I can tell you, even in the winter, You know, we're exposed to different things that kind of dry out our skin. Okay. Yeah. And having our skin well moisturized really protects our skin and keeps that skin very healthy and also helps save it from drying out, cracking and kind of having a older appearance to it.

Yeah, no,

Cheryl Kramer Kaye: I don't want that. Um, so this is what I love about this routine. It is wonderful for spring because you're saying this is hydrating, but it isn't a heavy, I mean, it's a really, really lightly formula. You guys, I can touch my hair right now and I'm not wearing, weighing it down with the sunscreen.

So all of these formulas are really wonderful. I mean, it's really a year round collection.
